Beth Schwartz Obituary, 48-Year-Old Woman Killed, Another Charged in Shooting at Shippensburg, Cumberland County
Pennsylvania State Police in Cumberland County say one woman is dead, and another woman is charged after a shooting in Shippensburg.
According to troopers, the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Prince Street.
State police said 48-year-old Beth Schwartz was shot and later died at York Hospital.
Breanna Black, 33, was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide.
Troopers said the victim and suspect knew each other, and the shooting followed an argument between the two.
According to a criminal complaint, Black’s girlfriend said Black and Schwartz argued over the phone. Black then allegedly left her apartment and took a gun with her to confront Schwartz in a parking lot.
Black’s girlfriend told investigators she heard a gunshot. When Black returned to the apartment, and her girlfriend asked what happened, Black allegedly said, “I just shot her.”
