Carlos Fred Romo; Merced County Sheriff Detectives Arrest Suspect In The Murder Of Sonia Thomas

Merced County Sheriff’s Office officials reported that on Thursday, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office’s Investigations Bureau, Supervised Release Team, and Identification Bureau successfully executed a search warrant and arrested Carlos Fred Romo.

After a two-month-long investigation, Romo was ultimately arrested for the murder of Sonia Thomas. This conclusion was only possible due to the detailed work of multiple teams whose coordinated efforts resulted in removing another violent criminal from our community.
