Daniel Hernandez Death and Obituary, Victim Identified in Bronx Accident

A teenager from the Bronx was killed in a freak accident involving a tractor-trailer and a parked trailer he had been standing on.

The 17-year-old victim, identified by police as Daniel Hernandez, had reportedly climbed on top of a parked trailer around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday September 4 2022, when he lost his footing and fell off. Hernandez was crushed by an oncoming tractor-trailer that was driving west when he landed on its wheels, according to the report.

Police said he was squeezed between the wheels and runed over. He died at the scene.

The truck’s 42-year-old driver kept driving for a few blocks, before stopping and remaining on the scene, according to officers. He has not been charged.
