Darriel Diaz Obituary, Man Shot At NP Gas Station Succumbs To His Injuries
The man who was shot on March 29 at a gas station in Arima, has died.
The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Darriel Diaz, of Temple Street in Arima.
He succumbed to his injuries at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex on Good Friday.
The incident took place at about 11:20 pm on March 29 along Hollis Avenue, Arima.
The victim was said to be standing near a pump when a silver Nissan Tiida pulled alongside him.
Two men exited the car and shot the victim.
The suspects then reentered the vehicle and drove off.
The police and emergency health services were notified, and the injured man was taken to the Arima Hospital where he was treated before being transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where he remained warded until he died.
Officers from the Arima police station, led by W-Sgt Porter, PC Singh, and PC Jones responded.
Crime scene investigators recovered dive spent shells at the scene.
PC McDowell is continuing inquiries.
