Elizabeth Partin Parrish, Death and Obituary, Victim Identified In Four Oaks House Fire Outbreak
Authorities have released the identity of a woman who died in a residential fire earlier this month near Four Oaks. Elizabeth Partin Parrish died in the 10:20am September 4, 2022 fire at 220 Spring Lake Road, off US Highway 701 South.
Neighbors reporting seeing flames throughout the house at the time they called 911. Fire personnel from Four Oaks, Strickland’s Crossroads, and Smithfield worked for about 45 minutes before bringing the doublewide mobile home fire under control.
After the flames were extinguished, firefighters located the body of the 66 year-old victim.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Ryan Parker said the fire originated in the living room area but the exact cause could not be determined. The fire was not suspicious. The incident was investigated by the Fire Marshal and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fire Marshal Parker encourages everyone to test their smoke alarms monthly. If someone cannot afford smoke alarms in their home, contact Johnston County Emergency Services and they will assist in obtaining smoke alarms through various avenues.
