Francisco Tanajara & Eric Oberholtzer Obituary, Deadly Shooting At Oklahoma City Bar Leaves 2 Dead; Arrest Made

Police arrested a suspect in connection with a bar shooting that left three people dead and others injured over the weekend in Oklahoma City.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a shooting at the Whiskey Barrel Saloon in the 4100 block of Newcastle Road, near Southwest 29th Street. Officers found numerous shooting victims, three of which police said died from their injuries.

Three other shooting victims also were taken to area hospitals, according to a news release.

The Oklahoma City Police Department identified two of the victims who died as 38-year-old Francisco Tanajara and 29-year-old Eric Oberholtzer. Authorities have not released the third deceased victim’s name pending next-of-kin notification.

Police said in the news release that it appears a fight broke out between several biker gangs inside the bar. The fight escalated, and several people exchanged gunfire.

One of the wounded people was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a first-degree murder complaint after being released from the hospital. KOCO 5 has not released the suspect’s name because formal charges have not been filed.

The investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing, and police said more arrests are possible. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Oklahoma City Police Department’s homicide tip-line at 405-297-1200.
