Jim Harrick Jr. Obituary, Former College Basketball Assistant & Son of Legendary College Basketball Head Coach for UCLA Has Died
Former college basketball assistant Jim Harrick Jr. passed away this week at the age of 58. He was the son of former UCLA head coach Jim Harrick.
According to UCLA, Harrick died at his home after battling a glioblastoma brain tumor for over two years.
Harrick played for his father at Pepperdine. He graduated from the university in 1987.
In addition to being a player for his father, Harrick had the chance to coach alongside him at Rhode Island and Georgia.
Jim Harrick Jr., the son of the former UCLA basketball coach, died Tuesday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 58. He had played at Pepperdine and was an assistant coach at San Diego State, Valparaiso, Marshall, Rhode Island, Loyola Chicago and Georgia.

Harrick also had assistant coaching stints at San Diego State, Valparaiso, Marshall and Loyola Chicago.
During the end of the 1991-92 season, Harrick served as the interim coach for San Diego State. The Aztecs had a 0-7 record during that span.
Once Harrick was done coaching, he joined the health care industry.
Harrick is survived by his wife Amy and their two daughters, Hannah and Holland.
