Love Sabatini; Woman Arrested After Trying To Kidnap Child At Town Center Mall
One woman has been arrested after attempting to kidnap a child at the Town Center Mall in Charleston earlier this week.
According to a criminal complaint, on April 5, 2023, Love Sabatini, attempted to kidnap a child at Town Center Mall. According to a witness, the defendant was observed slowly walking around the food court looking at children, particularly a four-year-old and two-year-old who are the children of the victim.
The witness stated that the defendant picked up the victim, a two-year-old child, and “ran with the child.” The mother of the child stated the defendant picked up her daughter and began to walk off with her. The victim’s mother was able to take the child out of the defendant’s arms.
The defendant was located by officers in the Town Center food court following the incident and was taken into custody.
The defendant admitted to officers she did not know the child or the parents of the child. Officers then asked Sabatini what her intent was when she picked up and walked away with the child. The defendant replied, “To love it”.
Police say they asked the defendant if she wanted to raise the child as her own to which she replied “Yes”. Sabatini later admitted to police that the child was not hers and that her actions were wrong.
Sabatini is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.
