Omarr Jamal Cameron-bramwell Obituary, 23-year-old Edmonton Man Identified As Kensington Shooting Victim

The victim of a fatal shooting in Kensington earlier this week has been identified as a 23-year-old man from Edmonton, according to Calgary police.

Officers were called to the 400 block of 10 Street N.W. on Wednesday evening for reports of gunshots. The gunfire exchange occurred between people in two vehicles at a Safeway parking lot in Kensington, Staff Sgt. John Guigon said.

While police responded, the driver of a black SUV pulled up to on-duty Calgary Fire Department members at the 1000 block of 6 Avenue S.W. seeking help for his passenger who was suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the firefighters’ efforts, the passenger was declared deceased at the scene.

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Thursday confirmed the identity of the shooting victim as Omarr Jamal Cameron-Bramwell, 23, of Edmonton.

Calgary police said the homicide investigation is ongoing as investigators follow several leads.
