The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died following a traffic accident on Wednesday night in Denton as Patricia Tovar Castro, 28, of Denton.

The deadly crash happened at around 7:33 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in the 8400 block of West University Drive near Cottonwood Lane.

Authorities said a pickup truck and a sedan were traveling westbound on West University Drive when the pickup truck rear-ended the sedan, which then crashed into a power pole.

Due to the impact of the crash, the pickup truck sustained moderate front-end damage, while the sedan had severe damage from being hit from the back.

The man driving the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. Police closed the westbound lanes of West University Drive for nearly four hours during the investigation.
