Viola Erb Death and Obituary, victim of a suspicious death investigation

Viola Erb was the victim of a suspicious death investigation from the weekend. A Saturday 1:20 p.m. medical call was reported at a Sandhill Road home by Waterloo Regional Police. Police classified an 88-year-old woman’s death as suspicious after finding her body at her home.

Over the weekend, Erb Transport Limited stated that Erb died without knowing the cause. In 1959, Erb founded the company together with her late husband Vernon.

The Police Department and the Chief Coroner’s Office are both investigating the event.

88-year-old Wilmot Township woman died after being found by Waterloo regional police. Around 1:20pm on Saturday, police announced that emergency services responded to a medical call at Sandhills Road in Baden.

A woman was found dead when crews arrived. The Office of the Chief Coroner and police found the death suspicious. On Monday, officers remained at the home for an ongoing incident.

CTV News reported that neighbors confirmed 88-year-old Viola Erb — one of the founders of Erb Transport — resided at the address. Police have not confirmed the identity of the dead. The Erb Group of Companies confirmed Viola’s death but didn’t provide a cause of passing at the time of announcement.

Viola assisted her husband Vernon in launching the Erb Group of Companies in 1959. The business is still owned by the family in Baden. Viola’s neighborhood mourned her passing and expressed how much she will be missed by her church community.

The police department asked anyone with information to contact them as their investigation continues. They didn’t indicate whether they were looking for a suspect or had arrested anyone.
